Scams on the Internet

People have found the most ridiculous ways to make money now. I stumbled into a certain site today, that I was to check out for my friend. They had a lot of absolutely ridiculous talk on their home page. Keep in mind that the formatting is entirely the company’s and that this is not a joke. People are seriously expected to believe this.

Site Build It! (“SBI!”) is Web hosting that works. It is the only all-in-one site-brainstorming-building-hosting-and-marketing step-by-step system of software tools that delivers thriving, profitable businesses.

I never judge a book by its homepage, or whatever, so I checked it out in more detail. I navigated to the tools page, and then began to judge the book by its content. It’s almost hard to describe, so I included this nice picture over here to your right.

I can’t really comment on everything, because there is not enough room in the internet right now, but I can point out a few dingers.

(0) Keep in mind, this should cost $5,675. So the $299/year they charge is a mere 5%. What a deal.

(1) They have 4 traffic HQ’s. I can’t even be bothered to explain this, since presumably no one knows what it means anyway

(2) Pay per click costs $220 a year, but they throw in mass-bidding at no extra charge. Wait, hasn’t this been free since, like, forever?

(3) $120 for Link Fix It!. I’m guessing that exclamation point is running you about $50, since the code for such a program might take me about 1 hour to write. Oh wait, I wrote this exact program for a class this year. It handles badly (impossibly so) formed HTML, recursion, error logging, and millions more features. The only reason it took me the full 3 hours is because my professor likes to throw tricks at us, like deleting files mid-read etc. (If anyone wants my Link Checker Pro 2000 for a reduced price of $100, please email me).

I can’t keep going, because I’m getting angrier and angrier. I am thinking of starting my own business though, since all you need is italic typeface and a rudimentary ability to turn on a computer.
