And that’s all there is to it. No not really. Science does produce some fun and most certainly useless things (see picture).
I don’t really care about those right now. I just read that right after reading about the Italian scientists who have found a (theoretical) way to give earthquake warnings of 15 seconds.
While that may not seem like very much time to dive under a table, it may be enough for automated systems to shut off gas pipelines or to halt high-speed trains.
