We woke up later than intended, probably because we were sleeping outside. We packed up and hit the drove, with Greg driving first. Greg’s drive took us through Yellowstone, which I’ve seen but is still amazing. We took quite a while, stopping at Old Faithful and some hot springs, as well as for several random photo opportunities.
We stopped in Butte, MT for dinner. You can skip Butte. After dinner, Seve took over, and he somehow got the worst drive of the trip. Curvy roads, construction, horrible rain and a not-that-great highway. Cynthia (our GPS) got us lost when we were about to get gas. Stuff like that.
We stopped at Denny’s around 1:30am (which was 2:30am Jackson time) and I loaded up on protein and coffee. I took the last leg, 1:30 to 7:15. I can now safely admit that I probably shouldn’t have been driving. But…I was careful and managed to avoid incident.
We arrived in Seattle and I must admit, I was swept away by the feeling. It might have been the lack of sleep, or it might have been that I was moving to a new place, I’m not sure. I was fired up, leave it at that. At the point where I began to recognize points along I-90 I realized I was actually moving and not just traveling. It is hard to express.
I checked out my apt, really just to get keys from Matt, then went to Julia’s where we all passed out while Julia ad Mike went to work.
Location: Seattle, WA !!!
