SamStrasser.com: recent changes

I have spent a fair amount of time on this blog writing about the future, specifically where the blog will go.  I am done with predicting things I don’t know.  Instead I want to tell you about the changes I have just finished making (mostly finished, at least).

The new site for the blog is samstrasser.com (which you seem to have found out).  It is no longer just a blog, though, and now includes links to a lot more that relates to me in some way.  Eventually, everything I do on the public web will be linked from here.  I’m most of the way there, with one or two big exceptions.

So I encourage you to check out the new site.  I went through all my old posts and categorized them, and I think you may find that you are interested in one or more of the categories.  They are on the right of every page.

You will also notice a list of items titled “Caught My Eye”, which is a list of items I have read or seen on the internet and that I felt my readers might be interested in.  You can subscribe to it as its own RSS feed.

Lastly, I have combined another blog of mine with this one.  It was called Computers For Normal People and I will now just post those entries here for consistency.

So if you are looking to see what the new direction is, don’t.  I think I will keep doing what I have been doing, with a few tiny exceptions.  For instance, now that I am 3,000 miles away from many of my friends, I intend to include more about regular events in my life, so that I can keep in touch easier.  Other than that, I bet I will still post about technology, that I will still have some rants about the way things are or the way things should be, and that I will still dabble in some politics.

So, welcome.
